    — The CEO Who Auctioned Her Own Kidnapping

Control is a measurable metric. It is not an emotion, nor is it a philosophy; it is a rigid, mathematical structure composed of variables, leverage, and absolute physical boundaries.

Right now, my control is localized to the sixty-story expanse of reinforced glass at my back, the cooling ambient temperature of my private executive suite, and the heavy, kinetic friction of Cassian Vale’s body driving into mine.

"Pace it," I command, my voice a fractured exhale against the collar of his dress shirt.

Cassian’s hands are anchored to my hips, his grip spanning the sharp crests of my pelvic bones. He pauses instantly. His body goes completely still, a masterclass in kinetic restraint, hovering just an inch above the breaking point. He doesn’t pull away, but he doesn’t push forward, maintaining the deep, stretching fullness that anchors me to the present second. He lifts his head, his dark, hollowed eyes locking onto mine, scanning my face for the slightest hesitation.

"Your call, Sloane," he murmurs, his voice a low, gravelly rasp that vibrates against my collarbone. He is a man who dismantles cartels and erases corporate liabilities in the shadows for a living, yet right now, in the sterile luxury of my office, he moves entirely by my jurisdiction. He waits.

I check the digital display flashing on the glass reflection. Eight minutes until I have to be on stage in the grand ballroom downstairs.

"Don’t stop," I order, digging my manicured nails into the heavy musculature of his shoulders. "Harder. Finish it."

The authorization is all he needs. Cassian’s jaw clenches, the muscles in his neck cording as he alters his angle, driving upward with a brutal, calculated precision that steals the oxygen from my lungs. Every thrust is deliberate, engineered to maximize friction and sensory overload. I wrap my legs tighter around his waist, grounding myself against the sheer force of him. My mind, usually a relentless processor of threat matrices and global market fluctuations, is forcefully narrowed down to the damp heat of his skin, the sharp scent of his bergamot cologne, and the relentless, rhythmic impact that threatens to shatter my composure.

Pleasure, in its purest form, is just a biochemical reset. It is a necessary maintenance of the human machine. But with Cassian, it is an aggressive negotiation. He bites down gently on the sensitive curve of my neck, his thumb pressing against the pulse point at my throat—not to restrict, but to feel the erratic, racing tempo of my blood.

I gasp, my spine arching off the cold glass. The sensory contrast—the freezing pane behind me and the searing heat of his body pressing me into it—snaps my internal tension. I shatter first, a sharp, ragged cry torn from my throat as the climax ripples through my muscles, seizing my core in violent, rhythmic spasms. Cassian swallows the sound with a deep, consuming kiss, riding the aftershocks of my release before he lets his own control fracture. With a low, guttural groan, he presses deep, holding himself flush against me as his breathing turns harsh and heavy against my ear.

For ten seconds, the world stops. There is only the hum of the city’s power grid below and the frantic synchronized beating of our hearts.

Then, the internal clock chimes in my head.

I place a flat palm against his chest and push gently. Cassian exhales, a quiet sound of acknowledgment, and steps back. He supports my waist as my bare feet touch the imported Persian rug, ensuring my balance before he fully retreats. There is no lingering sentimentality, no messy emotional aftermath. That is the boundary we established three years ago when I first hired him as my apex fixer, and it is the boundary that allows this secret indulgence to exist without contaminating my company’s structural integrity.

At minute eleven, I am operating at peak efficiency. I reach for the tailored, slate-gray Tom Ford sheath dress draped over the leather armchair. I step into it, pulling the zipper up my spine with practiced fluidity. I am not merely dressing; I am reassembling my armor. I check my reflection in the glass. No flushed skin. No visible bruises. My hair is pulled back into a severe, immaculate twist. I am Sloane Mercer, thirty-two-year-old CEO of Aegis Global Security, the premier private defense contractor for the world’s financial and political elite.

Cassian is standing by the mahogany desk, adjusting the cuffs of his tailored black suit. His tie is perfectly knotted. He looks like a shadow forced into the shape of a billionaire, his sharp, predatory stillness heavily disguised by bespoke wool and silk.

"Pulse check on the ballroom?" I ask, retrieving my microscopic earpiece from the desk and slipping it into my right ear.

"Two hundred VIPs seated," Cassian reports, his tone shifting instantly from lover to operative. He checks his encrypted smartwatch. "Board members are in the skybox. The target demographic is highly engaged. They are waiting for you to terrify them into opening their checkbooks."

"Fear is the most reliable commodity," I reply, activating the comms link. A stream of secure chatter floods my ear—Alpha Team confirming perimeter sweeps, Beta Team locking the subterranean exits. Everything is operating at a ninety-nine-point-nine percent efficiency rate. "Let’s go sell them a nightmare."

The private elevator descends in absolute silence, dropping forty floors toward the subterranean ballroom level.

I stand on the left side of the brushed steel cabin; Sloane stands on the right. The physical distance between us is exactly three feet, but I can still feel the kinetic imprint of her body on mine. I can still smell the ozone and vanilla of her perfume mixed with the sharp scent of sex.

I watch her out of the corner of my eye. She is staring straight ahead at the brass floor indicator, her face a mask of terrifying, beautiful calculation. Her Te-dominant brain is currently processing the architectural blueprints, the net worth of every client in the room, and the probability of a localized power failure. She believes she sees every variable on the board. She believes her threat matrix is impenetrable.

It is my job to protect her. And tonight, the only way to protect her is to completely dismantle her reality.

I slide my hand into the inner pocket of my suit jacket, feeling the hard plastic edge of the encrypted drive resting against my ribs. Beside it, tucked into my custom shoulder holster, is a suppressed SIG Sauer. I am not supposed to be armed inside the Aegis compound. Sloane’s security scanners are designed to flag even a microscopic trace of gunpowder. But I built the backdoors into her scanners six years ago, long before she ever knew my name, long before I maneuvered the capital that funded her empire.

She thinks I am just her shadow, her hired gun. She doesn’t know I own the board she reports to.

Arthur Vance, I think, my jaw tightening at the memory of the encrypted intercepts I pulled three hours ago. The Chairman of her board. The man she trusts. Vance has authorized the illicit sale of the biometric master files—the highly classified DNA and retinal data of forty world leaders attending next week’s Global Summit. And he is using Sloane’s security infrastructure to frame her for the breach.

If I tell her now, in this elevator, her first instinct will be to compartmentalize and confront Vance through corporate channels. She will try to fix it within the system. But the system is already poisoned. The only way she survives tonight is if she ceases to exist on their radar.

The elevator chimes. The doors slide open to the backstage area of the grand ballroom.

"Position three, Cassian," Sloane orders, not looking back as she steps out into the dim lighting.

"Copy that, boss," I reply smoothly, stepping back into the shadows to let her walk into the light.
