Ixara, Voice of Imryn’s flooded canopy, and Vael, Keeper of Calleth’s cloud-wreathed Heart-Grove, were raised to hear each other as enemies. Their kingdoms have been at war for a thousand years, and now the living world-chord beneath both realms is cracking into the Verdant Wrath: vines strangling cities, floodwater rising, and green storms turning acid at the edges.
When Ixara and Vael discover the war was seeded by a hidden discord that feeds on every failed reconciliation, they learn the only cure is the true duet every prior pair of Voices failed to complete. Root-note and bright-note. Soul and body. A harmony total enough to heal the green.
The cost is impossible: the duet will pour the singers into the world they save, leaving only a resonance behind. To break the cycle, two enemies must choose love as the final note, knowing it may dissolve them both.
Two kingdoms taught us to hate each other for a thousand years. Nobody told us the war was a song, or that the only way to end it was to sing the last note together.
